66°North Beefing Up Staff, Sets Sights on U.S. Market

Icelandic outerwear brand 66°North is gearing up for a major expansion as it appoints Jeppe Møller as its new chief commercial officer. With a century-long history in crafting sustainable outerwear, the brand is now eyeing the U.S. market as the next frontier.

Møller, who brings over 20 years of experience in the apparel industry, including a successful tenure at Danish brand Ganni, will be responsible for overseeing all revenue channels globally. He will be based in Copenhagen and lead the opening of a new satellite office in Demark.

“The technical wear category has been developing significantly into lifestyle over the past years, and I believe 66°North has the legacy and positioning to continue to build authority in the performance space while reaching a broader audience on the global scene,” said Møller, highlighting the brand’s potential for growth.

The appointment of Møller comes as no surprise, as he has been working closely with 66°North to refine its strategic focus for the coming years. His deep understanding of the industry and strategic thinking make him the ideal candidate to drive the brand’s expansion plans.

In addition to Møller, the company has also made two other key appointments. Justin Warren has been named as the sales director for North America, where he will establish a New York City office and oversee the launch of wholesale operations in the market. Warren, previously the vice president of North America for Parajumpers, brings valuable experience to the team.

Meanwhile, Mike Massoulier Eriksen has been hired as the head of sales EMEA, based in Copenhagen. With a background as the head of buying for Wood Wood, Eriksen will play a crucial role in expanding 66°North’s presence in the European market.

Founded in 1926 as a protective outerwear brand for fishermen, 66°North has evolved into a leading sustainable fashion brand. Owned by Helgi Oskarsson and Bjarney Haroardottir since 2011, the company operates multiple stores in Iceland and Denmark, as well as a flagship store in London.

With a focus on sustainability, 66°North has gained certification as a B Corporation. The brand’s commitment to ethical practices and quality craftsmanship has earned it a loyal customer base and partnerships with renowned retailers such as Selfridges, Harrods, Mr Porter, and Ssense.

As part of its growth strategy, 66°North recently appointed Kei Toyoshima, former menswear head at Bottega Veneta, as its first creative director. The highly anticipated collection, 66NORDUR, will make its debut during Paris Fashion Week in January, further solidifying the brand’s presence in the fashion world.

With the addition of Møller to its leadership team and the expansion into the U.S. market, 66°North is poised for success. As the brand continues to innovate and captivate a global audience, it is set to make a lasting impact in the fashion industry.
